About the Construction of the Sri Prasanna Vinayaka (Balamuri) Swamy Temple
The REMCO Housing Construction Society reserved this site specifically for the construction of a temple. The residents of the REMCO layout, along with members of the Housing Construction Society, formed the Sri Vinayaka Seva Samithi. Subsequently, the society officially handed over a 30 x 40 feet site mentioned above to the temple Samithi. The Bhoomi Puja for the temple construction was performed in the year 1990. The installation (Pratishtapana) of Sri Prasanna Vinayaka (Balamuri) Swamy took place on 18-06-1992 by Sri Sri Sri Niranjana Pranava Swaroopa Dr. Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji, Siddaganga Math, Tumakuru, through his divine hands. The Ganapati idol was sculpted by the renowned sculptor Sri Sri Sri Mahadeva Swamiji, Head of Nagalinga Math, Mysuru, who carved the idol in an exceptionally beautiful and divine form. Later, in the year 1998, a Gopura was constructed for the temple, and the Kumbhabhisheka was performed. Saints, seers, heads of various mutts, and many distinguished personalities participated in the Kumbhabhisheka ceremony.
